Dr. Ruchita Gupta

Dr. Ruchita Gupta

Chairperson, Post Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (PGPEx – EIM), IIM Mumbai

Prof. Ruchita Gupta, PhD, is an accomplished professional with expertise in technology, innovation and project management. She holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering (Gold Medalist) from Nagpur University, M.Tech in Electronics Engineering from MNNIT Allahabad, and a PhD from SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. With prior industry experience at Hewlett-Packard and Financial Technologies, her research interests span various areas - product and innovation management, entrepreneurship, technology diffusion, forecasting and modelling, project management, and risk analytics. She has published extensively in reputable journals such as Technology Forecasting and Social Change, Decision Sciences, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management. She has also authored international book chapters and conducted training for organizations like Marico, L&T, DRDO, and HPCL. She received the Prominence in Technology Management Award from IAMOT, USA, and was conferred the IAMOT Fellowship Award in 2022. Additionally, she currently serves as the VP-Communications of the POMS India Chapter and has been appointed as the Genpact Associate Chair Professorship. She holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad.

Prof. Vartika Srivastava is an Associate Professor of Marketing at IIM Mumbai and Chairperson of Career Development Services. Previously, she was at IIT Madras. Her interests include Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Analytics, Brand Management, and Digital Marketing. Her work has been published in various journals and she has led executive education for organizations like USV Pharma and American Express. Before academia, she was a Strategy Consultant at Monitor Deloitte, focusing on growth strategy and innovation. She holds a Ph.D. from IIT Bombay and a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad.

Admission Process

Application

  • Pay the ₹3,000 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Complete the online application form
  • Submit Statement of Purpose (SOP) and required documents
  • Appear for IMAT or upload CAT / GMAT / GRE score

Evaluation

  • Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI) based on eligibility, SOP, and test performance
  • Attend the online Personal Interview

  • Admission offer issued to selected candidates
  • Confirm seat via a booking amount of ₹1,00,000
  • Complete fee payment

Eligibility

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, from a UGC-recognised university or institution.
  • 45% for SC, ST and PwD candidates.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year post-graduation.
  • Preference given to candidates with startup, family business, R&D, or entrepreneurial experience (supporting documents required).

Test Score

  • Valid CAT/GMAT/GRE score (taken on or after June 2022)
  • A qualifying score in the IIM Mumbai Admission Test (IMAT).

Statement of Purpose

  • Required with application, outlining the candidate's business idea.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

The ₹25,000 caution deposit is refundable upon successful completion of the programme and graduation, subject to clearance of all dues. In case of withdrawal after commencement, only the caution deposit shall be refundable, in accordance with applicable Institute rules. All other fees paid are non-refundable.
